A passenger has died in a crash on a road north of York, police revealed today.
Officers were called to reports of a serious collision on Sheriff Hutton Road, between Sheriff Hutton and Strensall, at 11.10pm on Saturday.
A red Toyota Hilux pick-up truck travelling southbound and a black Land Rover Defender travelling northbound collided.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Sadly, the 44-year-old male passenger in the Hilux was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The other occupants of both vehicles were taken to hospital with serious injuries where they remain for treatment.
“We’re appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, saw either vehicle prior to the incident, or may have relevant dash-cam footage, to come forward.”
