A 15-year-old boy has been assaulted in York city centre, and a man has since been arrested and charged.
The incident happened at around 7:45pm on Thursday (14 August) on Leadmill Lane near the Postern Gate Wetherspoons.
Police say an adult male approached the boy from behind, grabbed him by the neck, and pushed him to the ground. The boy suffered minor bruising to his arm as a result.
A 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged with assault in connection with the incident.
At the time, the boy was wearing a bright orange T-shirt, while the male was dressed in an all black T-shirt and shorts.
North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses, information, or footage relating to the incident, as CCTV shows several people were in the area at the time.
A spokesperson said: “We’re particularly keen to speak with the man who approached the boy shortly after the incident, and a man and woman who appeared to be recording some of the incident.”
