Sherburn Aero Club, at Sherburn in Elmet, are hosting their main summer event this weekend – with aircraft rides, vintage displays, and family fun.
It’s the aviation club’s biggest public open day event, taking place on Saturday 23 August, and will be a fun day out for plane enthusiasts and families alike.
And YorkMix are proud to be hosting the event at the airfield!
The free-to-enter event is an ‘opportunity to both thank and engage with the local community’ – and will include highlights like aeroplane rides, helicopter rides with Hields Aviation, vintage aircrafts on display, a funfair, live music, and family entertainment.
From 3pm, spectators can enjoy an aerobatic display and wing walking display.
There will be food vans on site, as well as Digby’s Cafe that will be open all day, serving up refreshments like sandwiches, cakes and hot beverages.
Since Sherburn is an active airfield, there will be barriers in place however there will be plenty of viewing areas available to enable everyone to view the aircraft and watch the activities.
