CCTV image issued after fake gold was sold for £1,000

He’s wanted by police investigating an incident in Tadcaster.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We would like to speak to him after a ‘gold’ necklace was sold to an unsuspecting member of the public.

‘The incident happened in Tadcaster in July when a man cold-called at a business in the town, claiming to need money and offered to sell the ‘gold’ necklace that he claimed was worth £1,500 but would sell for £1,000.

“The necklace was stamped with an 18ct gold mark, however, it turned out to be fake.”
