Firefighters were called to a derelict building in York last night (Wednesday).
Firefighters went to the incident on Salisbury Terrace at 6.35pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews responded to a report of smoke coming from a derelict building.

“Crews gained access to the property and carried out a search, locating a fire in the basement of the property.
“Crews extinguished the fire and checked the property for further fire spread.”
