A fire engine from York responded to reports of a small fire in woodland yesterday (Friday) morning.
A further 2 appliances were requested – from Helmsley and Scarborough, and a water bowser at the scene in Cropton Forest.
The firecrew found a deep seated fire, initially measuring approx 6m by 6m involving trees.
Crews established a water supply using the bowser, surrounded the fire and cut out the main fire using the main jet.
