Two more stars have been announced to be going to the ball this Christmas in Cinderella at the Grand Opera House.
Today (Wednesday), producers UK Productions and the Grand Opera House have proudly unveiled that breakout star of ITV’s Mamma Mia! I Have A Dream, Tobias Turley, will play Prince Charming and musical star Rachel Grundy will complete the line up as Cinderella.
Cinderella is at the Grand Opera House from Saturday 6 December 2025 to Sunday 4 January 2026.
Tobias and Rachel join the previously announced star-studded cast: Coronation Street‘s Lisa George as the Fairy Godmother, actor and comedy performer Jimmy Bryant as Buttons, and West End drag superstars Luke Attwood and Brandon Nicholson as the Ugly Sisters.
Tobias rose to national fame as the winner of ITV’s hit show in 2023, where he captivated audiences with his charisma and commanding vocal performances. Since then, he’s gone on to light up stages in Mamma Mia! The Musical, Heathers, Hot Mess and West Side Story.
Tobias said: “I’m really looking forward to stepping into the role of Prince Charming in York this Christmas. It’s a fantastic story, and I can’t wait to be part of the fun and festive magic of panto season.”
Taking on the titular role of Cinderella is Rachel Grundy, an acclaimed musical theatre performer who has played iconic roles such as Janet in The Rocky Horror Show, Brooke in Legally Blonde: The Musical, and Dinah in Starlight Express.
Rachel said, “I’m over the moon to be playing Cinderella in York this Christmas! Panto season is always such a magical time, and it’s a dream come true to don the glass slippers in such a stunning city.
“I’ll be sweeping from the Shambles to the stage – and I can’t wait to bring some sparkle to the beautiful Grand Opera House!”
Cinderella has a script by award-winning Jon Monie, and promises laugh-out-loud set pieces and heart-tugging moments of magic and transformation, glittering costumes, high-energy dance routines, intricate lighting design and jaw-dropping stage effects.
Josh Brown, venue director for the Grand Opera House York, added: “Tobias and Rachel come with strong West End credentials and will be a huge hit in York.
“We’re thrilled to welcome such exceptional talent to the Grand Opera House stage, in what will be another hugely popular, showstopping panto from UK Productions.”
Tickets for Cinderella start from £16, and are available via the Grand Opera House York website
