Fire crews responded to reports of youths setting fire to grass on the Knavesmire yesterday evening, at approximately 7:57 pm.
By the time the firefighters arrived at the scene, the fire was already out.
The incident was then handed over to the police.
Authorities are reminding the public not to start fires in grassy or woodland areas, especially during the hot and dry weather, as the risk of wildfires is a lot higher.
