Elderly man dies after fatal crash in North Yorkshire

An 81-year-old man has sadly died following a serious collision in North Yorkshire yesterday (29 June).

Police were called to the A19 at Chapel Haddesley at around 3:30pm, after reports of a collision involving a silver Jaguar car.

The male driver was taken to hospital by ambulance but tragically died shortly afterwards.

North Yorkshire Police confirmed that his next of kin is being supported.

The road was closed with diversions in place for several hours to allow emergency services to work safely. It reopened just before 10pm.
