Emergency services called to man swimming in the Ouse late at night

A man swimming in the river in York sparked a response by the emergency services late last night (Friday).

York and Acomb firefighters joined police and ambulance crews at the River Ouse at 10.57pm.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews were requested to assist police and ambulance with a male swimming in the river.

“On arrival male had got himself out the river and crew and Ambulance Service assisted him to safety.”
