Crews have been dealing with a number of fires overnight.
The Acomb crew was called to reports of smoke seen in the area of Green Lane in Clifton at 9pm last night (Saturday).
“This was caused by multiple fires on one site,” a North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said.
They used one hose reel jet to put them out.
At 9.12pm, York firefighters were called to Hull Road Park off Alcuin Avenue “to reports of youths setting a fire near to a tennis court”.
Wooden pallets and compost were ablaze. They extinguished the fire, measuring two square metres.
This incident follows two fires started deliberately in the area the night before.
Next, at 9.24pm, Selby firefighters responded to reports of youths setting a fire next to a field of crops of the A19 at Barlby.
It had been extinguished before they arrived.
Finally, the Selby crew put out fly tipping that had been set alight on Common Lane, Stubbs Walden at 1.24am.
