Police taped off part of a North Yorkshire village today after a bomb was discovered.
Just after 8.30am they were called to Staxton, near Filey, to a report of an unexploded device, suspected to date from the Second World War.
It was in an outbuilding on a farm.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Officers attended to the address and informed the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD).
“A cordon was put in place as a precaution while EOD removed the device from the area.
“The device was then transported to a safe location where a controlled explosion took place at approximately 12.30pm.
“We would like to thank the public for their patience whilst we dealt with this incident.”
