Anyone who was at the last year’s final will remember it for a long time to come! The final of 2024’s YorkMix Choice awards was certainly one to remember, and not just for the awards themselves. These are no ordinary business awards, just ask the former Sheriff of York who spent the evening on stage with Robbie Williams, or at least a very convincing Robbie impersonator!
This year’s final is already being planned, but before we get there, we need to start the nomination process for the YorkMix Choice Awards
It’s not long now until the YorkMix Choice Awards, taking place on Thursday 23rd October at the Milner Hotel..
Sponsored by York St John University, the awards aims to celebrate businesses in our area that are making a difference.
It’s a unique event as there are no judges – all the finalists and winners are all chosen by you!
So, how do you nominate? Well, it’s very easy, just pick a category and fill in your details below.
Plus there’s six month’s worth of advertising for every nominee!
Every local business that’s nominated will receive a six month membership to our brand new online business directory, The YorkMix Orange Pages, which launches in September. We’ll make all the arrangements and you’ll receive free marketing from YorkMix for six months!

All eligible nominations go automatically through to the first round.
Please only nominate a business or organisation if you are legally able to represent it, for example if you own the business or you are an employee with permission to nominate.
Once the voting process is complete, the winners will be crowned in a live ceremony on Thursday 24 October 2024 at the Principal York Hotel.
It’s a very special and celebratory occasion, as the people voting for the awards are our readers and listeners who use the nominated businesses day in and day out.

Voting for nominations
Terms and Conditions
- Businesses must trade within the YorkMix Radio Broadcast area
- Entries close at 23:59:00 on Friday 12th September 2025
- YorkMix reserves the right to change the category you have entered in to, or to alter categories and reassign where deemed appropriate
- All qualifying businesses will receive a six month free membership to the YorkMix Orange Pages. We will email details of how to claim your membership within 30 days of your entry being submitted. You must claim your membership within 30 days of this email being sent.
- All qualifying businesses will move through to the first round of voting.
- Voting will open for the first round on Monday 15 September 2025 and run until Friday 10th October 2025.
- In each category, five businesses will move through to the second round, based upon the number of votes received. The finalists will be announced on Monday 13th October 2025.
- Voting for the second round of voting will run from the 13th October 2025 and close 21:59:00 on Wednesday 22nd October 2025.
- Winners will be announced at the live final on 23rd October 2025.
