The new Mayor of York, Councillor Martin Rowley, has appealed to the public for help in locating a missing civic badge.
The Sheriff Consort, Mr David Smith, was attending York Races on Saturday (14 June), when the badge became detached from his jacket and and fell off.
The badge is part of a newly issued Civic Badge set, presented to the Civic Party during the mayor-making ceremony on 22 May.
Cllr Martin Rowley shared the appeal on Facebook, describing it as an “urgent need for help”.
He urged anyone who may have found the badge or has information about its whereabouts to contact him via email.
