Two lanes on a major motorway bridge are closed following the discovery of a fault.
It’s on the M62 between junctions 36 and 37, Ouse Bridge near Howden and Goole.
National Highways Yorkshire said it was due to a damaged bridge joint, adding: “Following advice from a specialist inspector we have had to put in place emergency lane 1 and lane 2 closures on the M62 westbound between junctions 37 and 36, Ouse Bridge.

“Although the damaged joint is in lane 1 we have been advised to also close lane 2 for safety.
“This will inevitably lead to substantial delays. Please consider alternative routes for your journey.
“These lane closures will be in place whilst further inspections are carried out and a repair made.”
No timetable for the reopening of the bridge has been shared.
