A man needed hospital treatment after a late-night attack in the centre of York.
Two men were walking over Ouse Bridge at about 12.50am on Friday 6 June when it happened.
An unknown man punched one of them.
The victim suffered a possible fractured jaw, needing hospital treatment.
The assailant was walking with a woman at the time of the assault. He is described as
- white
- in his mid 30s
- with short dark hair
- facial hair
- and he was wearing a black tracksuit.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We’re particularly appealing for any footage of the assault captured on local CCTV or dashcam systems.”

The appeal comes only a day after Ouse Bridge was closed as police investigated another outbreak of violence, in which two men and a woman were injured.
