Winston the dog is recovering after undergoing a watery ordeal.
The black lab became trapped by clay mud in a stream in Low Marishes, between Malton and PIckering.
Malton firefighters were called in at 12.01pm today (Saturday).

They used two swift water rescue dry suits and personal floatation devices to wade out and rescue the 14-year-old dog.
Malton Fire Station said on Facebook: “Winston was carried home safely by our firefighters.”
He’s now been reunited with his owner and taken home.
