Police cordoned off a bridge in York city centre this morning.
Ouse Bridge was closed both ways, to traffic and pedestrians.
Police tape was across the bridge close to the sets of steps to King’s and Queen’s Staith.
The cordon has now been lifted and the road reopened.
Incident location

There were police vans parked and officers stationed at either end.
A scenes of crime officer was examining evidence in the middle of Ouse Bridge.

We’ve asked North Yorkshire Police for more details and will update this post when we have them.
